Renovation turns up vintage paint logo

Removal of paint inside the Fonk’s building revealed this advertisement for the Carter White Lead Co.

Like a giant coin, the logo design of an old paint company was found painted across an interior brick wall of the old Fonk’s building last week.

The monolith might be an old advertisment leftover from an former paint store that went out of business in the 1970s, according to talks with several long-time Colfax residents.

Construction workers discovered the long-lost relic while peeling plaster off the wall.
