Diane Cook reports on cruise

Diane Cook returned home Tuesday after spending three days in Norfolk, Va., as guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Ilene Dickinson.

She then flew to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where she met up with Allen’s cousins and husbands, Donna (Cook) and Don Harbaugh, Missoula, Mont., Paula Cook, Nancy (Cook) and Dave Klotz, Tacoma and Shirley (Cook) and Larry Benson, Vancouver.

They went for a 10-day cruise to the Caribbean Islands of St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Martin and Barbados. Diane reported a wonderful, fun-filled time with much to do and see. The highlight of the trip was snorkeling off St. Kitts.

The annual Christmas Program was at the Lamont Community church Sunday.

The junior church children - Carmen, Lea, and Owen Swayback, Tracy and Rose Manville, Clara and Colton O’Keefe performed a skit depicting the birth of Jesus.

Carmen, Lea, Tracy and Rosie played piano solos, Bonnie Swannack read a Christmas poem and Chet Swift sang two Christmas Songs, “Could it Be” and “O Holy Night.”

A group of about 20 people met at the church Sunday evening and went caroling around Lamont. They returned to the church to have chili, turkey soup and cookies.

The Shields family: Kathy, Ed, Andrew, Chris, Stacy and her friend, were recent guests at a Christmas party at the home of Denise Humphrey in Harrington. Angie Knott was also a guest

Kathy Shields and her daughter, Billie Jo Davison, drove to Oregon Dec. 6, to visit Billie Jo’s daughter, Krista Schultz, at the Young Life Christian Camp near Antelope.

This is a 64,000 acre ranch, and Krista is working one year as an intern. Kathy and Billie Jo returned home Wednesday, Dec. 9.

Nita Polda, Pat Peterson, Betty Stone and Georgia Bageant joined other “Little Red Hens” club members from Sprague for a tour of the Davenport Christmas trees and lunch at the Palm Court.

Remember the 1 p.m. potluck Jan. 1 at the Lamont Community Building. Everyone is invited to come and welcome in the new year.
