Lighting up the game

Avista crews erected nine new light poles at the McDonald Park ballfields Wednesday morning. The long-awaited lights were funded through a $126,000 capital appropriation from the state Legislature and a $74,000 grant from the state parks and recreation department. The poles have been stored at the park for over a year, while the school waited for the state funding to come through.
