Wells prepped for aquifer test

Colfax wells were slated to be fitted last week with monitors to prepare them for an area-wide pumping shutdown to measure aquifer impact. The Colfax test coincides with similar shutdowns in Moscow, Pullman and other members of the Palouse Basin Aquifer Committee.

The towns and universities will fill their reservoirs and then shut off the well pumps for a day and measure the result, if any, on the aquifer.
