    Spring opening for Moller Road on the west hill of Colfax has been postponed because of the rainy weather. Moller Road was posted for an April 1 seasonal opening, but wet conditions did not allow that this year.     Travis R. Keene, 31, Spokane, has been summoned to appear in court April 8 on a charge of taking a motor vehicle at Uniontown. According to the investigation report filed with the case, deputies responded to a report from Uniontown March 4 that a Dodge pickup truck had been stolen. The owner of the truck said he had allowed Keene to use the truck and Keene never brought it back. He said he contacted Keene on a cell phone, and Keene assured him he was on the way back to Uniontown but he never showed up. Keene was arrested in Spokane March 8 and...

    About $60 worth of food was raised and donated to the local food bank during the food for fines drive at Endicott, Librarian Caroline Morasch reported. The annual penny drive to fund children’s programs will continue through April 16. All the money raised during the penny drive will benefit children’s programs throughout the year.     Allan Schmoe Allan Schmoe, 73, former resident of Steptoe and St. John, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Sullivan Park Care Center in Spokane Valley. He has lived in the valley since 2008. Born Jan.21, 1938, to Othel and Vera Bauman Schmoe, he was raised in the Ballard area of Seattle and served in the U.S. Navy.
