Colfax Downtown Association and its Main Street Program is in the final month of accepting B&O taxes earmarked to be used to improve the downtown area. January through the end of March is the dedication time for B&O taxes. There is a cap of $95,000 for the program. These funds are re-channelled through the association and overseen by a local committee. B&O taxes from previous years have been used to fund store front grants. The 26th annual Washington Cattlemen's Association bull test sale will be March 20 at 12:30 pm at the Bonina Sale Facility in Eltopia. This sale has received excellent support from Whitman County area over the years with many bulls going to local herds. The WCA consignors appreciate and thank our customers and want to continue this ranching relationship. The bulls are being fed at Beus Feedlot this year in pens 48 and 49. The Vikotics robot team will compete at the Sun Dome in Yakima. Matches start Friday morning, March 15. Ukulele classes returning to the Colfax Library “Introduction to Ukulele: Plus” with instructor Scott Hallett at the Colfax Library will begin April 10 and run through May 1. The classes are geared toward adults and provide lots of fun for absolute beginners.
