    All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will close Feb. 16-17 in honor of President’s Day. Due dates for library materials have been extended in anticipation of these closures and no late fines will be charged for these days. Drop boxes will remain open at all locations for returned items.   • World wine win for Rosauers, Super 1

    The Wine Collection Series developed for Rosauers and Super 1 by St. Hilaire Cellars has won the top honor and medal by being named Best Label Series in the 2020 World Wine Championships Packaging Competition. Gary L. Jackson, president of St. Hilaire Cellars, designed the labels. All of the Rosauers and Super 1 stores in Washington carry wines in the collection, including Rosauers in Colfax.     Ronald R. Bidle, 78, Jan. 14, 2020, passed away at the Avalon Care Center in Pullman. No services will be held. Born Oct. 5, 1941, at Pullman to Ralph and Lula Colvin Bidle, he attended the Palouse schools. He joined the United States Marine Corps Feb. 13, 1959, and was later discharged April 30, 1963. Ron married Ada L. Smith and the couple were later divorced. He worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He enjoyed auto mechanics, anything involving hot rods.     On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Rickey (Rick) Lee Van Tine, loving husband and father of two, passed away unexpectedly at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington, from sepsis due to a staph infection. He was 65 years old. Rick was born May 14, 1954, in Spokane. He spent his entire life in the Palouse region of Washington, and grew up on a farm outside of Colfax.     Alzora M. Carter, age 97, quietly passed away January 26, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nev., with her loving and devoted daughter Renee Murray at her side. She was born April 30, 1922, to Leslie and Ella (Culp) Smith. Alzora attended schools in Tekoa, graduating from Tekoa High School in 1940. Alzora married Eugene J. W.
