Jaine Roberts Springer

April 15, 1927 - February 7, 2023

Jaine Roberts Springer of Mercer Island died peacefully on February 7, 2023. Born on April 15, 1927, to parents Clive E. and Flossie M. Roberts (nee Miller) of Colfax, Wash., Jaine graduated from Colfax High School and Mills College. While at Mills, she had the unique opportunity of interviewing Eva Peron in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for a course paper.

She was a member of AAUW, the Spokane Club, Hayden Lake Country Club, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and the Women's University Club of Seattle where she was the chair of the Book Club for many years.

Throughout her life, Jaine was an avid reader of fiction, biographies and current events. A tomboy as a child, she was a golfer, a swimmer and also a serious walker who could be seen most days on the trails of South Mercer Island with her Sealyham puppy.

Jaine is survived by her seven children: J. Scott Deasy (Kathy), Kay Deasy (Len Sorrin), Craig Deasy (Karol), Beth Rohlfing (Jim), Sara Graham (Bret), Annie Springer, and Clive Springer (Diana); 13 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at a later date.
