Gar-Pal makes strong defensive efforts early in the season

PALOUSE - The Garfield-Palouse (Gar-Pal) Vikings girls basketball team has won three games in a row, defeating the Colton Wildcats, Waitsburg Cardinals and Asotin Panthers, while falling to the Colfax Bulldogs in the season opener.
Against Colfax, the Vikings took an early lead with junior Morgan Lentz hitting a 3-pointer and sophomore Kyra Brantner making a 2-point field goal. Colfax could only gain free throws while Gar-Pal freshman Molly Huffman hit a field goal and fellow freshman Tia Gehring made a 3-pointer to put the Vikings ahead 10-2 halfway through the first quarter.
