SJEL Eagles fall to Dayton Bulldogs

Boys basketball begins season 0-2

DAYTON, Wash. - In their first away game on Friday, Dec. 6, the St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles narrowly fell to the Dayton Bulldogs, 54-48.

Bear Brewer led the Eagles with 20 points on six field goals and shooting 7-for-13 from the free-throw line. Avery Anderson notched nine points on four field goals, Brody Fleming added seven points on three field goals and Ty Pierson contributed five points on two field goals. The Eagles collectively sank 9-for-24 free throws for 37.5%.

Anderson had 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Fleming had five rebounds and a steal. Joe Hergert and Chase Harder each had three rebounds. Brewer led SJEL with five steals.

The Eagles returned home to St. John at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, for a game against Upper Columbia Academy Lions, after press time. SJEL will next play the Garfield-Palouse Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, in St. John.
