Gar-Pal girls look for a return to State

PALOUSE — After going 18-8 last year with a 12-1 stretch in the second half of the season, the Garfield-Palouse (Gar-Pal) Vikings girls basketball team is back on the court.

The Vikings made it to the State quarterfinals where they fell to Sunnyside Christian (23-5 last season) by just five points, 37-32.

Gar-Pal graduated just one senior last year in Zoe Laughary, but are still relatively young with a lone senior this year in Camryn Blankenchip. The 5-foot-6 guard will be among juniors Elena Flansburg and Morgan Lentz with sophomore Kyra Brantner as prospective starters. The team will have fi...
