Owls and eagles and bears, oh my

COLFAX ­­- There are new sights to see among the trees while playing a round at the Colfax Golf Course and Country Club.

An eagle, a bear and owl have been carved from tree stumps by Spokane wood carving artist Aaron Chavez, along with his daughter Inara and son Bing.

"This has just been great," Chavez said. "Especially having my kids here helping me."

Hailing from Spokane, Chavez is an artist and owner of Chavez Carving and 3C Construction (Concrete, Carving, Craftsmanship). He has been carving professionally for about five years traveling around Spokane and the Pacific Northwest.
