Mobility fund helps provide local resident a wheelchair

COLFAX - The Council on Aging and Human Services was able to donate the first wheelchair from its 'mobility' fund to Colfax resident Berylene DeYoung.

DeYoung was presented the the wheelchair on Thursday, May 30, to assist her at the Colfax Senior Meal site.

The fund was started by the family of Jerry Schmick, a long-time Whitman County resident who passed away about a year ago.
