Colfax students raise money for ag program

COLFAX — Thrifty Grandmothers awarded $15,000 in college scholarships to Whitman County graduating seniors.

A record number of applicants submitted applications and of the scholarships, 40% went to students pursuing a vocational-technical school education instead of a four-year college degree, reports say.

Fifteen winners’ essays were chosen. To be picked an essay needed to demonstrate a willingness to set admirable goals, work hard and support others.

$1,000 scholarships were awarded to the following students:

Colfax — Abree Aune, Hannah Baerlocher, Anna Cocking, Jonathan...
