Lack of lifeguards holds up swim season, lessons
PALOUSE — Without enough lifeguards, the city pool will open a week later than planned.
The pool is now tentatively expected to open June 18, a week later than originally planned.
“Unfortunately, we don’t have enough lifeguards to open the pool at the current time,” City Administrator Misty La Follett said in a June 3 email. “We are doing everything we can to recruit enough lifeguards, but at this point, we are unable to open the pool as planned.”
The one-week delay should help the city recruit lifeguards.
