Two World II veterans were named commander and vice commander of the Seventh district of The American legion at the spring conference held recently in Dayton. John Elwood Hansen, Dayton, was elected commander and William Lockhart, St. John, the vice commander.

Hansen, who succeeds Oswald M. Suksdorf, Rosalia, was a master sergeant in the Seventh Air Force. He was in the service 45 months, most of which was served in the Pacific theater. He is the present commander of Frank E. Bauer post No. 42 of Dayton.

Lockhart, also an army veteran, is commander of St. John post No. 179 at St. John.
