Toddler drowns in unused pool near Endicott

ENDICOTT — A 2-year-old girl drowned in an unused concrete swimming pool Tuesday.

The girl had been playing with siblings Tuesday evening when her parents noticed she was missing, Sheriff Brett Myers said.

After about 15 minutes of searching, she was found unresponsive in an older, unused swimming pool containing about 2 feet of residual standing water, Myers said.

“Family members and emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures at the scene and during transport to White Community Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead,” he said.
