Lost college student sent home

MALDEN – A man called 9-1-1 to report a suspicious vehicle and a man trespassing on his Belsby Road property April 19.

The homeowner said the vehicle passed by his home on a private driveway. When he went to investigate, he found the vehicle parked and empty, according to a Whitman County Sheriff’s Office spokeman.

Before a deputy could arrive, the homeowner found the young male driver.

He was a Washington State University student, who got lost driving from Pullman to Cheney, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He was given directions and sent on his way....
