Drugs, cash found in SUV

Pullman man held on $150,000 bail following arrest

COLFAX – A Pullman man was ordered held on $150,000 bail during his Whitman County Superior Court appearance March 30 on a drug-related charge.

Joshua Bewick, 31, of Pullman, is facing possible charges of possession of illegal drugs – fentanyl pills – with intent to deliver, third-degree driving while license suspended and a Spokane County District Court warrant for failing to appear for a third-degree malicious mischief charge.

He was appearing in court after being arrested following a traffic stop downtown on Main Street and subsequent search of his vehicle, records show.

Whitman County Sheriff’s Office deputies executing a search warrant on Bewick’s 2005 Ford Explorer found 500 alleged fentanyl pills, heroin, $220, a scale, drug paraphernalia and an unidentified white powder, records show. The substances were confiscated as evidence.

The southbound SUV was stopped for a traffic violation, Sgt. Michael Jordan said. The driver had a suspended license.

“During the contact, deputies obtained information from the driver (that) led them to believe illegal narcotics were in the vehicle and that those narcotics were intended for distribution in the Pullman area,” Jordan said.
