White inducted into Washington FCCLA hall of fame

COLFAX - Colfax High School's Cathy White is inducted into the Washington State Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Hall of Fame.

"Cathy White has been a great influence on students for over 40 years as the (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) adviser at Colfax High School," stated a spokesperson. "She has also guided many students through the state officer positions, STAR Event competitions, and endless community service projects for the Colfax area."

After White's retirement, she took on the responsibility of STAR Event Coordinator for the state of Washington. She spent hours ensuring the success of STAR Events at every level of competition and makes sure that members, advisers, and volunteers understood their positions, were confident in their duties, and had any questions answered immediately.

"Over the past three years, she learned new technology, along with the rest of the world, putting in more hours than most people understand, to continue to ensure the success of STAR Events," stated a spokesperson.

Adviser Barbara Hamilton said, "I have known Cathy White for approximately 40 years and she is one of the main influences in my life and my decision to become a family and consumer sciences teacher and (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) adviser. She has left an impact on many generations of students in Colfax and across the state of Washington."
