Children, dogs and teddy bears to gather at WSU

PULLMAN — A Teddy bear surgery clinic and a 5K dog run are set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2.

Children are encouraged to bring their favorite stuffed animal, scrub in with veterinary students and assist with “surgery” at Washington State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital’s Teddy Bear Surgery Clinic, 205 Ott Road, organizer Emma Potter said.

The event includes the Royal Canin Canine Canter 5K run and other events.

Check-in for the run is at 8 a.m .; racetime is 8:30 a.m. Prizes are awarded to the Top 3 finishers and for the best dog and runner costume combo.

Proceeds benefit Whitman County Humane Society.
