Hughes gets Quilt of Valor

COLFAX – William “Bill” Hughes was recognized for his service to the country by receiving Quilts of Valor.

The handmade quilt was presented to him at the Bible Church in Endicott during a ceremony on Jan. 29, according to Diana King.

Hughes served from 1952-1953 in the Army as an Army corporal. He started at Camp Roberts in San Miguel, Calif., and then was sent to Germany where his primary responsibility was as a tank mechanic.
