SPOKANE VALLEY - Four Whitman County boy wrestlers earned top spots at the Tri-County Classic on Dec. 23.
Walker Montgomery wrestled at 120 pounds for Garfield-Palouse. Tekoa-Rosalia's Bryce Casey and Cullen Billings competed at 145 pounds and Timberwolf teammate Koa Razo at 160.
Montgomery (2-2) opened the tournament by pinning Joseph Nixon (2-2), of Mount Spokane, in 1:22 to advance to the quarterfinals, where he was pinned by Colin Smith (5-8), of Hanford, in 2:06.
In the wrestlebacks, Walker pinned Adolfo Duran (3-4), of Cheney, in 59 seconds to stay alive. But in the third consolation...
