SJEL Eagle girls trounce Touchet on the road

TOUCHET — The St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse (SJEL) Eagles girls outscored the Touchet Indians two-to-one.

The Eagles beat Touchet 51-24 on Dec. 14 on the road.

The Eagles started hot scoring 12 points in the first quarter while keeping the Indians to 5 points. In the second quarter, SJEL added 14 points and kept Touchet to 1 point. The half-time score was 26-6.

Coming out of the locker room, Touchet had its strongest showing by scoring 16 points to SJEL’s 11. The Eagles came back to add 14 in the fourth quarter while the Indians only scored 2 points, ending the game at 51-24.

“(It was) a balanced night for us. We were able to work everyone into the game,” said Coach Jeff Gates.

SJEL’s Brooklyn Bailey was the top scorer with 11 points from 6 baskets and 5 free throws.

Olivia Kjack added 9 points off of 4 baskets and a successful free throw.

Chloe Stach contributed 7 points by making 3 baskets and a free throw.

Kyra Holt, Hailee Marty, and Ryan Mills each scored 5 points.
