Colton Wildcat boys basketball slides to 0-4

COLTON — The Colton Wildcats boys basketball team continues improving, but slid to 0-4 after a loss to Sunnyside Christian.

The Knights won the game 63-22 on Dec. 18.

It was the first game for Colton with the entire roster.

“(They) are still learning and working to find cohesion,” said Colton Coach Brandon McIntosh.

Sunnyside started with the lead in the first quarter, 26-5 and by halftime, the score widened to 45-9. In the third quarter, it grew to 58-15. In the fourth quarter, Colton outscored Sunnyside, 7-5, but the final score was 63-22.

“We struggled to get into sets,” said McIntosh. “(We) need to work on picking up the pace, moving quicker, and moving the ball.”

The Wildcats’ Grant Wolf stood out with his defense in recovering 3 rebounds, offered 2 assists, and scored 2 points.

“(I’m) very proud of his relentless work effort. He does the things that don’t always show up,” said McIntosh.

Ralph Arnold scored 9 pts and had 3 rebounds for Colton.

Dalton McCann added 5 points.

Tanner Baerlocher and Angus Jordan both contributed 2 points each.

“We will keep working and improving,” said McIntosh. “Our goal is to compete in every game this season. We will get there.”
