Neal Robertson

May 24, 1936 – Nov. 29, 2021

Neal Robertson, 85, passed away in his sleep November 29, 2021, at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. He was born May 24, 1936 to Butch and Edna (Shields) Robertson in St. John, Washington. Neal graduated from St. John High School in 1954 and went on to get his Bachelor degree in business from Eastern Washington University. He worked alongside his dad at Lamont Bank of St. John for several years before taking a position as controller for the hospital in Colfax in 1970.

He married Jolene Glorfield in 1971. Together they had four Children: Jason, Trevor, Justin and Tiffani. The two divorced in 1983 and Neal returned to the Lamont Bank of St. John to continue to work alongside his dad and his brother Dick. After his dad passed, he became the manager and the bank continued to thrive and grow.

Neal was a very avid trap shooter, shooting every chance he got at the Pine City Malden gun club with his many friends. He was very consistent even in his older years in getting 24 or 25 birds each time. He was also very passionate about aviation. He started flying in 1963 and continued flying his own aircrafts up until 2003. He owned several different planes, the last two both being aerobatic planes. He enjoyed taking his kids and their friends for rides in his plane. After he was no longer able to fly, he began attending airshows a few times per year with his childhood best friend Clinton Miller.

Neal's biggest passion however was being with his family. He was proud of his son Jason for being able to fix anything and everything, he was proud of Trevor for getting his pilot's license and taking him on his last airplane ride in October, he was proud of Justin for becoming such a loving dad, and he was proud of Tiffani for following in his footsteps and worked with her for 24 years at the Lamont Bank of St. John, where she became the CEO at the beginning of this year. He was so excited to have grandchildren and attended dance recitals, swim meets, gymnastics events, soccer games, baseball games, birthday parties and anything else they were involved in.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents Butch and Edna Robertson, a brother Richard Robertson and his son Justin Robertson. He is survived by three children Jason (Sonja) Robertson of Albion, Trevor (Teresa) Robertson of Spokane, Tiffani (Tom) Organ of St. John, a sister Donna Lucht, 11 grandchildren and his nieces and nephew.

The family suggest memorials be sent to the St. John Endicott Schools Foundation to be used for scholarship purposes. The celebration of life for Neal will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the St. John Community Building. Bruning Funeral Home is caring for the family.
