Uniontown suffers string of vehicle prowls

UNIONTOWN — Seven unlocked vehicles in Uniontown were entered and things were stolen, including a garage door opener, on Dec. 2.

The vehicles were parked at homes on South St. Boniface Avenue.

All were unlocked. The thefts are described as crimes of opportunities because if a vehicle was unlocked, the thieves would open it and take what they could find.

“People should lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight,” said Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers. “People parking outside and have garage door openers … keep them out of sight. I would strongly suggest to not have a garage door open...
