Dennis Allan Bay

The Reverend Dennis Allan Bay (Pastor Bay, "PB", "Denny"), 76, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on October 20th, 2021, at 11:35 a.m. He was surrounded by family and lifted in prayers, praise and thanksgiving! He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marion, and his four children: Bekah, Joshua, Deborah, and Amy (Josh Rettig).

Pastor Bay's faith was the most important part of his life here on earth. He lived to invite others to stand firm on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to invite Jesus Christ into their lives as their living Lord, risen Savior, and BEST friend!

He just celebrated his 45th anniversary of ordination this spring of 2021.

He was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Frank and Helen (Folstad) Bay. His only sibling Nancy (Rudquist) Bay is also home eternal with them all. Dennis was raised in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, and played high school sports and went on to college to play baseball and football. He loved peanut butter, steelhead fishing, watching planes, tigers, going to Air Museums and sporting events, studying God's Word and being with family and friends.

He served our Lord at the following congregations: Associate Pastor at St. Paul's of Shorewood Lutheran Church in Burien, Washington, for three years. Then he was called to serve for 32 years in LaCrosse, Wash., at Selbu Lutheran Church with his family. After retiring in 2011 he and Marion moved back to the Seattle area. Even in retirement Pastor Bay preached at several churches in the area including St. Paul's of Shorewood Lutheran Church in Burien, Grace Lutheran Church in Edmonds, and Elim Lutheran Church in Lake Stevens.

He will be missed dearly here on earth and with great JOY we wait to be reunited with him and all the saints with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven! Come Lord Jesus, Come! Hallelujah! AMEN!!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Pastor Bay's celebration service will be held Friday, November 5th, 2021, at the Selbu Lutheran Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church social hall.
