Jason Richard Flodin

Jan. 18, 1974 - Oct. 13, 2021

Jason Richard Flodin, Colfax area resident, died October 13, 2021, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane from complications of COVID pneumonia. He was 47.

Jason was born January 18, 1974, in Moscow, Idaho, to Dennis and Peggy Blankenship Flodin. The family lived briefly in Onaway, Idaho, when he was little before moving to Colton, Washington, where he grew up and attended school. Jason's father died when he was very young and his growing-up years were spent with his younger brother Andrew, his mom, and his step-father, Dennis McLain who became his very best friend.

Jason graduated from Colton High School in 1994. He worked as a farm hand for local farms including Harlow's during his younger years and for Larry Cochran around Colfax. Jason met his wife Wraylee while living in Elberton and they were soon married in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on December 19, 1998.

They lived in Elberton and Colton early on. Taking a break from farming, Jason worked for Neill Motors in Pullman and drove tow truck for nearly every operator in Pullman. They moved to their current home in Diamond in 2005 and he went back to the fields he loved working as a custom applicator for St. John Grange, CHS, and Four Star Agronomy companies. His final hat was worn custom applicating with The McGregor Company. He enjoyed running equipment almost as much as spending time getting to know the people he was working with and the farms he was serving. The Flodin's enjoyed riding along in the equipment with Jason, going to the woods, hunting for mushrooms, and spending time on the Snake river as a family.

Following in his grandfather's footsteps, Jason was a member of the Masonic Lodge and El Katif Shrine. He loved riding in parades with the Shriner's motor patrol on his grandfather's Cushman. Jason's love and warmth were greatest for his family. His proudest moment was the day he learned he would be a Daddy to Ainslee McLain and again to McKenzee Quayle.

Jason is survived by his wife Wraylee and their two daughters, Ainslee and McKenzee Flodin at their home in Diamond; brothers Rod Wilson of Wilson Creek, WA, and Andrew Flodin, Spokane; his step-father, Dennis McLain of Colton; niece Wraylee, nephews Cody, Wyatt, Xander, Deacon and Eston, two great-nieces as well as countless friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Jerry and Joan Blankenship and his beloved mother, Peggy McLain.

A celebration of life will be held on October 23rd 2021, at Palouse Empire Fairgrounds at 4 p.m. On-line guest book is at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com
