Pullman church receives guest preacher

PULLMAN - Peacemaker Award recipient Reverend Gail McDougle is serving as guest preacher at the Community Congregational United Church of Christ (CCUCC) in Pullman from Oct. 3 through Dec. 26.

She's preaching while the current pastor Steve Van Kuiken is on sabbatical, according to Outreach Coordinator Megan Guido.

McDougle's approach to preaching aligns with the progressive theology and social justice emphasis of CCUCC. In 2009, she received the Salem Peacemaker Award for years of service to the homeless, immigrant communities, the peace community, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender/Transsexual and Queer (LGBTQ+) community.

The CCUCC is a unique church on the Palouse that offers an alternative Christian perspective and progressive theology. Worship services are at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings at 525 NE Campus Street in Pullman.
