Less than 1% of Washington residents died of COVID

OLYMPIA — COVID has killed 0.087% of Washington residents with 6.73% have contracted the virus and been treated by health care professionals.
The Washington Department of Health (DOH) announced the latest counts of people contracting COVID and dying from it as of Sept. 1.
A total of 512,162 people in Washington have confirmed cases of COVID, according to the state.
Out of them, 6,643 died from the virus.
Washington State has a population of 7.615 million, according to the US Census Bureau in 2019.
