Depot Days begin in Pullman on Aug. 20

Depot Honorary Co-Chair and Mayor Glenn Johnson will give a proclamation of Ken Vogel Day on Saturday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. There will also be displays of Northern Pacific Railway items that Ken donated to the Pullman Depot Heritage Center.

PULLMAN – Depot Days is an event created by the Pullman Depot Heritage Center and the Whitman County Historical Society to run with the National Lentil Festival on Aug. 20-21.

Depot Days honors Ken Vogel, a member of the historical society and a Pullman businessman.

"(He) was an avid train aficionado who bequeathed many items from his estate to the Depot including 'George' the uniformed conductor mannequin, who greeted customers in his store, train posters, and other memorabilia," said a spokesperson.

People attending are asked to wear their high school varsity letter jackets on Friday fr...
