All libraries close for week of maintenance

Dues dates are extended, Wi-Fi still usable

Whitman County Libraries

COLFAX - All 14 branches of Whitman County Library are closing for annual maintenance Aug. 2-8.

"During the weeklong closure, special projects will be performed that are difficult to complete when the library is open including technology maintenance, carpet cleaning, painting, and general building upkeep," according to Whitman County Library spokesperson Kylie Fullmer.

Libraries affected by the closure are Albion, Colfax, Colton, Endicott, Farmington, Garfield, LaCrosse, Malden, Oakesdale, Palouse, Rosalia, St. John, Tekoa, and Uniontown.

Due dates for books and checked out materials are extended beyond the closure.

Book drops and Wi-Fi outside of the libraries remain usable.

The closure doesn't affect online services, such as the library catalog, eBooks, audio books, Beanstock summer reading app, Rural Heritage digital photo collection, and other services.

During the maintenance closure, staff are preparing for a garage sale set for Aug. 27-28 in The Center in Colfax.
