Rotary Club dedicates new backstop, fencing

COLFAX - The Colfax Rotary Club dedicated a new softball backstop and fencing at Little League Park on July 8.

The project cost $11,000. It was paid in part by the hotel-motel tax from the City of Colfax.

The improvements are a higher backstop than the previous 12-foot wall and new fencing along the baselines.

"It's a real backstop instead of a fence," said Mark Clinton, rotary boardmember.

Junior softball is for kids up to the fifth-grade level.

The rotary club met at the Methodist Church for the first in-person meeting since March 2020 at the start of COVID restrictions. The members brought bagged lunches and Colfax Mayor Jim Retzer was the speaker.
