Caleb Berquist exploded out of Lacrosse to attend Montana State University and compete in the College National Finals Rodeo on June 19.
CASPER, WYO. — LaCrosse's Caleb Berquist took second-place in tie-down roping at the College National Finals Rodeo on June 19.
A junior at Montana State University, Berquist was in first-place after three rounds going into the finals.
In the end, he posted a total time of 44.3 seconds for four runs, finishing second to Macon Murphy, of Panola College, who had a 39.1.
Berquist is an agriculture-business major and 2018 Colfax High School graduate.
To qualify for nationals, he won the Big Sky Conference tie-down roping championship with the top ranking.
