Motorcycle collided with pickup on SR 27

TEKOA — A group of motorcycles rode over a hill on State Route 27 and the last rider struck a pickup driving in the wrong direction on June 13.

Joel French, 42, of Plummer, Idaho, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado south in the northbound lane. He was driving on the shoulder to spray a fence line from the pickup, according to the Washington State Patrol.

John Scott, 54, of Mead, was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the vehicles collided. His injuries were severe and he was flown by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
