Each library branch designated a special project for the money collected, with funds being used for everything from Summer Reading STEAM bags to library projects.

COLFAX - The 2021 Penny Drive generated $669 for the Whitman County Library system during National Library Week.

"Each library branch designated a special project for the money collected, with funds being used for everything from Summer Reading STEAM bags to library projects," stated Sheri Miller, Whitman County Library associate director and youth services manager.

National Library Week began in 1958 to observe libraries across the country. Whitman County Library started taking in the Penny Drive in 2006 with all 14 library locations.
