Arrests made at Clearwater River Casino drug bust

LEWISTON — Multiple law enforcement agencies served a search warrant at Clearwater River Casino in Lewiston, Idaho, and arrested three people for selling drugs.

Brad J. Sawyer, 54, of Torrance, Calif., was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail on the felony charge of trafficking heroin and methamphetamine. John B. White, 38, of Lewiston Idaho, and Kris E. Bell, 54, of Moscow, Idaho, were booked on unspecified drug charges.

In early May undercover detectives bought heroin from a suspect. The detectives discovered the suspect’s dealer was in town from Torrance and that he was staying in the hotel.

The Quad Cities Drug Task Force, FBI, Idaho State Police, and Nez Perce Tribal Police executed a narcotics-related search warrant on May 20 at the hotel room in the Clearwater River Casino.

“Detectives located and seized heroin, methamphetamine, digital scales, glass pipes, hypodermic needles containing heroin, packaging materials and (more than) $10,000 cash,” according to Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myer.
