Patricia Porter

Patricia Anne Porter, 86, passed away April 30, 2021, at the Spokane Hospice House.

Patty was born in Oakesdale, Wash., on January 21, 1935, to the late George Schley and Sidonia (Wiemer) Littleton. She was raised in Rosalia, Washington.

After graduating from Rosalia with the class of 1952, Patty married the love of her life, Joel Porter, on Nov. 2, 1952. Patty raised three sons and was their planner of road trips, vacations, Sunday school teacher, scout leader, cheerleader and bowling coach. Over the years, she worked at the bank, the telephone office, dry cleaners, managed the Cub Drive-in for 15 years, and then at the school.

Her love of children was evidenced by her in-home daycare for her numerous "adopted" kids for 31 years. She loved Rosalia and was a great supporter of anything to do with helping the kids, Rosalia, or anyone in need. She spent countless hours of her life over a period of years in procuring funds for the Rosalia swimming pool. She had family workdays to clean up the Evergreen Cemetery in preparation for the annual Memorial Day Wiemer Family Reunion.

Patty was fun, spunky and enjoyed life, along with all types of games, bowling, playing cards and dice, gardening and growing flowers, watching birds in her backyard, crocheting, knitting, ceramics and crafting projects with her dear friends, grandkids and daycare kids.

Patty is survived by her children Tracy Porter, Andy (Sally) Porter, and Matthew (Natasha) Porter; 11 grandchildren, Melody, Breanna, Fritz, Nicholas, Julie, Jacob, Betsy, Mary, Eric, Jade and Tawny; five great-grandchildren, Cooper, Adley, Harvey, Lindsey and Trinity; brother, Don (Judy) Littleton and sister, Arlene Baily; along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Porter; parents Schley and Sidonia Littleton; Norm Baily, Elmer, Hazel, Rolly, Gary and Alice Porter; along with numerous beloved relatives and friends.

A service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Patty requested that any memorial contributions would please go to support the Rosalia IOOF Evergreen Cemetery in her honor.
