Batting cage project in early stage

COLFAX — New batting cages for high school baseball and softball teams might be built for Colfax High School in conjunction with the city.

The idea is in the talking stages.

Both teams have been effectively banned from using the newly remodeled junior-senior high school gym as a batting cage on rainy days.

“As a superintendent, I feel there is an obligation,” said Jerry Pugh, Colfax School District superintendent. “The baseball and softball teams need something to use.”
