GARFIELD — A few scenes in the movie The Last Champion will be familiar to people living in Garfield and Pullman.

The movie was filmed in 2016 in both locations and the story is set in Eastern Washington.

It was released last December through various online streaming sources.

The story is about a former state champion and Olympic wrestler, John Wright, returning home after 20 years to seek redemption and may have found it as the new wrestling coach, according to Internet Movie Database.

Wright returns home after his mother's death. He becomes the new wrestling coach and faces the challenges of mentoring a promising young wrestler in Michael Miller, played by Sean H. Scully.

Miller faces an opponent who wants to destroy him on and off the mat.

The main character of John Wright is played by Cole Hauser.

He's known for his work in the movies Dazed and Confused, Good Will Hunting, and TV series Yellowstone as Rip Wheeler.

"You'll believe in second chances," is the movie tagline.

The movie is being streamed online. The trailer is available at http://www.thelastchampion.com/site/#/the-town.
