Palouse man charged for child porn

Victims were girls 2-10 years old

PALOUSE — Child pornography was found on a computer and a thumb drive in a Palouse home.

Karl J. Wesley, 63, of Palouse, was charged in Whitman County Superior Court with five counts of possession of child pornography on Monday.

Moscow police’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) told the sheriff’s office they found a person accessing and sharing child pornography through the internet in Whitman County.

“It was later determined that the location and likely subscriber to the internet IP address was associated with an individual from Palouse,” stated Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers.

The sheriff’s office served a search warrant on a house on North J Street on March 12. Another search warrant was used to search a thumb drive handed to deputies by Wesley.

“Upon searching the items from the thumb drive, I located several hundred videos … depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. There (were) also approximately 100 photographs …”wrote an investigating deputy.

The girls ranged in age from “approximately 2 years old” to 10 years old, according to court records.

Despite the hundreds of images and videos, Wesley is charged with five counts for a specific video and four photos found on the thumb drive

Wesley was “cooperating with investigators,” stated Myers. “This investigation is ongoing.”
