Colfax woman competes for Mrs. Washington for America

COLFAX - Lorien Smith competes in the Mrs. Washington for America pageant as Mrs. Colfax on Aug. 14 in Olympia.

Smith is new volunteer EMT with the Colfax Fire Department. She attended her first in-person workshop for the pageant on Saturday in Ellensburg.

A 2004 WSU graduate with degrees in sociology and women's studies, Smith is originally from Ephrata.

The Mrs. America program crowns a state winner in each of the 50 states, who then advance to the national pageant in Las Vegas in March 2022.

Judging categories include interview, physical fitness and swimsuit and evening gown.
