Colfax aims at math gap

COLFAX — Colfax School District plans to address a learning gap attributed to students’ time away in online learning.

Superintendent Jerry Pugh gave a report Monday night to the school board.

The district received information analyzed through the Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing. It showed Colfax students have a significant loss in math.

“We’ll have 7-12 weeks of backing up to learn the content that they missed,” Pugh said.

He cited an example of fourth- and fifth-grade students learning fractions.
