County may earmark Babb funds

COLFAX — Whitman County commissioners Monday discussed allocating $10,000 toward the Pine Creek Long-Term Recovery Organization for a researcher/grant-writer/manager position.

The group is in the process of seeking a state license and 501(c)(3) status.

“It was definitely a dig-through and figure out what’s legal experience,” Chairman Art Swannack said.

The Pine Creek Long-Term Recovery Organization would hire someone to help deliver funding for projects as rebuilding the town’s library and a food pantry.
