County jobless rate hits 5.2%

OLYMPIA — The state Employment Security Department released its December 2020 employment report Tuesday, with the state decreasing by 9,900 jobs, for an unemployment rate of 7.1%.

The Whitman County rate is 5.2%.

Unemployment rates in the report at the county level are not seasonally adjusted, as the sample size is too small to make for the added analysis, officials said....
