Colfax dentist retires after 35 years

COLFAX — A local dentist has retired after 35 years.

Dentist Robert Smith retired Jan. 1 and sold his business to John Turner, who began practice here Jan. 4.

Smith began his practice in 1985 after graduating from University of Washington dental school. He had previously earned an undergraduate degree in zoology.

Smith also was a longtime Colfax School Board member, finishing has last term in 2019.

Turner’s wife, McKinzie, teaches at Colfax Junior-Senior High School. She also coaches the Oakesdale High School volleyball team....
