Clean the House

January 21, 2021

I read with dismay about Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers’ flip flop on challenging the certification of the Electoral College.

But apparently the protest on Jan. 6 made her change her mind. I’m sorry, but that is (using the biblical phrase from the Apostle Paul) “barnyard refuse.” If a representative was “concerned” that there was fraud or other illegitimate factors regarding an election in any state, then, by their oath to the Constitution they are obligated to object.

There is no nexus to the protest and the legitimacy of the election. If Ms. McMorris Rodgers had any concern the elections was not properly conducted, then she violated her oath to the Constitution. Shame on her.

I was also dismayed by our Sen. Patty Murray. She condemned “…in the strongest terms…” the protest of Jan. 6. Nothing wrong with that. However, a search for her condemnation of the violent protest last May when Antifa set fire to the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church across the street from the White House and did much other damage turned up empty. Murray stated “Antifa does not exist…just like Bigfoot.”

Nor did Murray complain when Code Pink protesters stormed the Capitol and broke into Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing.

Not even a peep could I find from her condemning the Seattle riots nor the Portland riots nor any other pre-election riot. Her selective outrage is also outrageous “barnyard refuse”.

It’s time to “de-elect” everybody. Clean out the House.

Clean out the Senate. Start over.

Colfax
