Vogler renews certification

COLFAX — Mathematics and science teacher Kathryn Vogler has renewed her National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification for 10 more years.

She is among 15 teachers in the county’s small school districts who have been certified by the voluntary program.

Vogler has been teaching secondary math and science in the Colfax School District since 1991.

She first attained National Board Certification in 2000 in adolescent and young adulthood science, joining a total of 80 teachers in Washington to reach NBCT status at that time. 

In Colfax, teachers Andrew Penwell and Wendy Hickman are also certified by the National Board.
