Donations, names sought for Toy Box

COLFAX — Givers and receivers are still coming in for the Colfax Fireman’s Toy Box, which provides toys to families with children.

“This year, the children need Christmas more than ever,” Toy Box “elf” Tracy Mathia said.

Last year, the Toy Box served 267 youth from across Whitman County, except Pullman. The turnout is expected to be greater this year due to the pandemic and fires.

Instead of one big shopping event as in past years, the “elves” have been shopping more online; more toys are needed.
